What is Kenpo Karate?

Kenpo (translated “Fist Law”) is a fighting-oriented martial art brought to the mainland US (via Hawaii) in 1954, and further refined by the late Senior Master Edmund K. Parker (to whom we trace our lineage); his system includes a high content of technical understanding and solid anatomical principles. Kenpo (also known as Kenpo Karate or American Kenpo) is characterized by sequential flows of fast and accurate hand strikes and low-line kicks, and includes self-defense techniques against a variety of attacks, including: Punches, Holds & Hugs, Kicks, Chokes & Locks, Pushes, Multiple Attackers, Grabs & Tackles and Weapon Attacks.

The movements of Kenpo are quick, precise and based on natural motion - anyone can learn! Unfortunately, Kenpo is not as popular within the United States as other mainstream martial arts, which makes the need for accessibility even greater.
